Regular readers of this bog trot know that I am not a nice person and seldom participate in activities that are not designed to bring on the bomb, but occasionally the human flu infects me, and I briefly engage in this effort or that to help someone somewhere get through the night, as long as the sons of bitches don't know where I live or how to contact me.
Readers also know that this blog is produced using Sandvox from Karelia Software. Recently I received an e-mail from Karelia about a software bundle offered by MacWeed who plans to send 20% of all proceeds (proceeds, not profits) from sales to the Italian Red Cross (CRI) to help victims displaced by the massive earthquake that hit Abruzzo shortly before the G8 conference.
You can see pictures of the mess here.
The MacWeed Creative Bundle consists of 13 applications, 6 of which are provided unlocked for immediate use: Amnesia, DEVONthink 1.9.16, Finance 6, Interarchy, ImageFramer, and Media Catalog.
The other seven programs are provided as demos, but if enough people buy the bundle during the next two weeks, some or all of the following applications could also be unlocked: MacSnapper, SkypeCap, Optimism, ProfCast, Photo Styler, Voila, and Sandvox.
The cost? $49.99 US, and ten bucks of that goes to the CRI. Not a bad deal, even if you don't need the software, which I don't, but I put the 50 bucks on PayPal anyway. I can use some good karma from time to time, particularly because I'm part Italian and part Cherokee, which makes me all loser, all the time.
If you can use some good karma too, click here and buy some absolution. You can always give the software to someone else, like that homeless dude that hangs out in the library looking at porn when he should be looking for work.
